Mark Bentz is an entrepeneur — he is a massage therapist, a practice strategist, a speaker, an educator and a philanthropist with a passion to help others find growth and fulfillment in what they do.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Mark started losing his sight at the age of 9. Mark has never allowed his vision loss to hold him back, though — in fact, he credits it as the foundation of all his life’s successes, helping him reach new heights physically, mentally, and professionally.

As a competitive alpine skiier, Mark made headlines for Canada in 1984, when he won two gold medals at the Winter Paralympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria. 

His athletism also manifests in the hockey rink. An avid hockey player, Mark currently sits as the Vice President of the Canadian Blind Hockey Association. One of Mark's many passions is teaching blind kids and young adults to build resilience through hockey. 

In addition to his dedication to helping young people hone leadership skills through athletics, Mark is also a successful entrepreneur.

Mark acquired his entrepreneurial spirit at a young age. At the age of 9, Mark was diagnosed with a rare, degenerative eye disease that would eventually lead to his loss of vision. Because of this, Mark knew early on that he needed to be his own boss and create his own professional career. 

Mark started out as an entrepreneur early on: as a young boy, he started a business painting addresses on curbs. As a young adult, he enrolled in massage therapy school. From there, he opened a small massage therapy clinic.

As the years went on, he grew his clinic to create Electra Health: one of the largest, and longest-running, multidisciplinary clinics in Canada.

In addition, Mark is also a long-time practice strategist. Since beginning his clinic, he has helped countless health professionals grow their practices and find fulfillment + passion they are looking for.

Mark’s love for helping young professionals extends to education, providing therapists around the world with online courses, tutorials, eBooks and access to an online community of support and learning, so that they can find fulfillment and growth in their professions.
