I lost my eyesight at nine. Today, I run a multimillion-dollar health company without being able to see it. I’ve also stood on the podium twice as a Paralympic gold medalist.
But my story isn’t about blindness. It’s about building resilience, sharpening focus, and discovering the purpose that drives you forward.
I’ve had to build and lead a high-performance team, create systems that empower people to perform without constant oversight, and move forward without certainty. That kind of environment demands resilience, clarity of focus, and the willingness to act even when the path isn’t fully visible.

Canadian Blind Hockey is a charity that transforms the lives of children and youth who are blind or partially sighted through programs like try-it sessions, development camps, competitions, and support for the national Blind Hockey teams. The sport is played by athletes with vision ranging from about 10% to completely blind, using a larger, noise-making puck.
Braille Mountain INITIATIVE
Braille Mountain Initiative empowers people who are blind or visually impaired to experience the challenge and freedom of mountain sports. It builds confidence, resilience, and community through guided adventures, mentorship, and education. The organization showcases the ability of visually impaired athletes to overcome adversity and break down barriers, while ensuring that financial limitations never prevent access to life-changing mountain experiences.
